An Analysis of The Rich and The Poor

Social status — a psychology term that measures a person’s value to the level of respect, dignity, and competence harmonized to people within a society.
Social status can affect humans significantly without even knowing. The social class of someone may be altered in terms of their lifestyle, life expectancy, and finances. It can impact someone’s life mentally and physically. The award-winning film Parasite is about a family in South Korea struggling with poverty by comparing the division of wealth between two very different families, the Park’s who are filthy rich, and the Kim’s who are very poor. The film highlights economic mobility along with a strong message of classism. Parasite is easily one of my top favorite movies as it showcases the many internal factors that made the characters do what they did, the overlook by high-class neighbors due to a family’s low social status, and how greediness can cause a natural desire for wealth through several psychological theories.
First, we can observe how the Kim family is struggling to barely meet an end. They lived in a cramped, semi-basement relying on unprotected wifi from their neighbors. In one scene, the Kim family argues with the pizza shop to pay them…
